HENRY JENKINS LIKES BIKES!

A giant portrait is about to mysteriously appear in a field close to Kirkby Malzeard!

The colourful Land-Art installation, which measures approx.. 25m x 15m, has specifically been created to coincide with the Tour de Yorkshire which races through the village on Sunday 6th May. It is hoped that the image will be filmed by the camera teams in the helicopters which follow the race.

“Henry Jenkins Like Bikes” is intended to focus attention on the plight of the local pub, the Henry Jenkins Inn, which has been the subject of a bitter struggle between the owner, who wishes to demolish and replace it with 4 houses, and a large number of villagers, led by the Henry Jenkins Community Co-op who wish to retain and regenerate it by means of a community buyout.
